On Tuesday, February 28, Kickin’ Country sold out and packed out Rusty Bull Brewing Co. for the rare opportunity to hear American Idol winner Chayce Beckham live. His James Dean style and gritty vocals contrasted sharply with his light-hearted storytelling, which was worth the ticket alone. He had us slow dancing to “Keeping Me Up All Night,” feeling sentimental with “Yard Sale” and closing out the show with a sing-along to his new single “23.” Between the colorful homages to hometown friends and frequent salutes to his “mama,” we felt like we knew him by the time he left the stage a full hour and a half later.

So, if you didn’t know – now you know: Nashville Hot shows are worth it. And they sell out! So, watch this space for details on the next one and reserve your seats ASAP. We have major artists lined up for March and April. Those details and your chance to win VIP seats and a meet n’ greet with the artist will be posted at 925kickincountry.com.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
