On Tuesday, March 21, Kickin’ Country listeners packed into Rusty Bull Brewing Co. to hear “Excuses” artist Kolby Cooper live, with proceeds benefitting MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital on the eve of Kickin’s participation in its annual Cares for Kids Radiothon. Kolby is one of those artists whose rough vocals and wailing guitar solos sound just as good live as they do in-studio. Kolby’s emotionally raw lyrics and fist pumping drinking anthems sent us on a storytelling journey. We sang, we shouted, a few of us even danced – no, not Cush, thankfully. Thanks to Kolby, Rusty Bull and our sponsors, Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union and Huk Performance Gear for a great night for a great cause.

Miss this Nashville Hot? No more “excuses!” (See what we did there?) ? Watch this space for details on the next show and your chance to win VIP seats, plus a meet n’ greet with the artist. (We already have two major ones lined up for April.)
