This September 11th marks 20 years since the attacks on 9/11. This year, it’s important that we remember our First Responders.

You have an opportunity to honor our true American heroes Saturday, September 11th at the annual 9/11 Heroes Run on Daniel Island. A benefit event for the Travis Manion Foundation, the run honors the fallen heroes of September 11th, along with the firefighters, police officers and military here in the Lowcountry.

In 2007, Travis Manion and his fellow Marines were ambushed in Iraq. Manion was fatally wounded by an enemy sniper while aiding and drawing fire away from his wounded teammates. His courageous acts allowed every member of his patrol to survive. The Travis Manion Foundation was created in his honor.

This year’s 9/11 Heroes Run is sponsored in part by Baker Cadillac of Charleston, Hero Heating & Air, iCryo on Daniel Island and the Steinberg Law Firm. The year’s event will be emceed by Hunter & Cush from 92.5 Kickin’ Country. Plus, from the Two Girls & a Guy Morning Show on Mix 95.9, Brooke Ryan will host an after race party at New Realm Brewing on Daniel Island.
