Give the Gift of Care & Comfort to Kids:
Donate a New or Gently Used Teddy Bear to “Sarah Cares”
Paula and Dino Schaefer were in a horrible car accident years ago with their two kids, DJ and Sarah. When the highway patrolman showed up on the scene and saw kids involved, he gave them both a Teddy Bear Highway Patrolman to help them cope. Sadly, Sarah later died and was buried with her teddy bear, while now 26-year old DJ still has his bear. To honor their daughter, the Paula and Dino started “Sarah Cares.”
Auto accidents, domestic violence, home invasions are just some elements that negatively impact our children. When police respond, a teddy bear or stuffed animal helps distract and comfort them from what’s happening, and their recovery is better.
Today, you can help by donating to the “Sarah Cares Teddy Bear Drive.” Give a gift of care and comfort to kids. Donate a new or gently used stuffed animal at the place where you have a friend in the car business, Crews Chevrolet, Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, just north of the Northwoods Mall. Donations are being accepted there and at the North Charleston and Hanahan Police Departments through Sept. 5.
