The Beautification Transformation Project
Ends 8/31 | Town of Mount Pleasant

It doesn’t take much to make the world a better place for everyone. Every year, millions of people dispose of trash that ends up in our parks, forests, beaches, lakes and oceans. Trash and waste pollute our environment and cause major problems, but the Beautification Transformation Project seeks to turn that problem into purpose through creativity, ingenuity, compassion, and action.

This summer, residents and students of Mount Pleasant can take place in the BTP’s art contest, which seeks to turn one man’s trash into everyone’s treasure. The Project aims to use the contest to achieve their three-pronged approach to restoring the environment and combating pollution:

1. Clean the Environment
People are encouraged to help protect our planet by cleaning trash off of sidewalks, shores, and more, which helps strengthen ecosystems and restores natural beauty.

2. Transform Waste into Art
Local artists and students alike are encouraged to turn waste into wonder, giving discarded garbage new life as works of art. These rejuvenated works of art serve to inspire creativity and a sense of environmental responsibility.

3. Give Back to the Community
Money made from donations and art auctions will directly benefit local charities, schools, and community programs that leave a lasting impact.

Artists and students have until August 31st to submit their works of art through the Beautification Transformation Project website. These works of art will be judged based on creativity and originality, use of recycled materials, as well as execution and craftsmanship – winners of both the Professional Artist and Student categories will win a cash prize. You can view all the rules of the contest here.

Help keep the Earth clean by joining the Beautification Transformation Project today!
