Walmart Hurricane Awareness Expo
June 6th | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. | James Island Walmart Supercenter

With hurricane season fast approaching, now is the time for South Carolinians to prepare for the unknown when it comes to these devastating storms. While most people who have lived here long enough may know how things work, Charleston County Emergency Management and other departments are hosting an expo to help inform the public on what to do, how to prepare, and how to stay safe during a hurricane.

Happening in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter on James Island, representatives from Charleston County Emergency Management, the South Carolina Department of Insurance, as well as representatives from other agencies and first responders will help show you how to prepare your home and family for emergencies as well as how to put together an emergency supplies kit. The Hurricane Awareness Expo will also feature food and drinks, activities for the kids, and music to help balance out the seriousness of hurricanes with a bit of fun for the day.

The Expo will take place on Saturday, June 6th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free and open to everyone. It’s wise to be prepared for hurricane season, while also having fun learning!
