SEGMENT #1: City of North Charleston
GUEST: Edwin Wright, Ombudsman, Terika Wright, Police Captain, Angela Johnson, Associate Chief of Police
ISSUE: Education / Community Service
Approximately 10 years ago, then radio personality, now City of North Charleston Ombudsman Edwin Wright was asked to assist in dealing with a truancy problem.  He created the “Cool to be in School” program which continues today.  Saturday, August 9th, with the assistance of the North Charleston Police Department, the annual “Cool to be in School” Supply Drive will take place.  The event will provide not only school supplies, but haircuts and other necessary back-to-school elements for those in need. Associate Chief of Police Angela Johnson and Captain Terika Wright spoke of the department’s role in the drive and provided specifics on the event.  The pair also shared information on CAPS, the department’s athletic program for youths in need in North Charleston.

SEGMENT #2: We Are Sharing Hope, SC
GUEST: Krystal Cau, Director of Communications
ISSUE: Organ Donation
Only a small number of those who are eligible to donate an organ actually sign-up to do so in South Carolina. We Are Sharing Hope SC is a non-profit organization educating area residents on the importance of being an organ donor. Krystal Cau, Director of Communications for We Are Sharing Hope SC provided some background on organ donation and went through the steps as to how someone could become a donor. Cau also spoke on how the non-profit works with the community, and one of the ways is hosting an health fair. Their 4th annual free event is set for Saturday, Aug.9. The director shared the services they would be providing, along with the other free activities available as part of the event.
