One of the Town of Mount Pleasant’s largest annual events is the Children’s Day Festival that is put on every October. This year’s 38th annual event is on Sunday, October 18th. Nicole Harvey, Community Affairs and Marketing Chief for the town, explained why it is important for Mount Pleasant to host these free events for the community. Mount Pleasant’s Events Coordinator Tracy Richter provided the details on this year’s Festival including a rundown of all the free entertainment that would be available. She also gave specifics on where people could park and shuttles that would be assisting Festival goers. Harvey shared how the town partners with local businesses to put on the festival and discussed the growth of the event, which now consumes all of the Park West Recreation Complex.
