Charleston International Airport Schedules

Hurricane Florence is packing a punch across the Lowcountry, and the Charleston International Airport says they will close runways tonight (Wednesday night).

A press release from the airport says they anticipate closing runways at midnight, and if they do so, all airlines will cease operations and businesses will most likely close.

The terminal and parking lot will remain open.

Anyone traveling to the airport will also need to take a different route than I-26, as lane reversals began Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Some airlines have already canceled flights, an updated list is provided below:

Delta and American – Continues to monitor conditions.

Southwest – Ceased operations at 1 pm Tuesday, Sept. 11.

JetBlue –  CORRECTION: JetBlue continues to monitor conditions.

United  – The airline anticipates ceasing flight operations by Wednesday, Sept. 12 in the afternoon.

Alaska has cancelled flights for Thursday and Friday. Passengers can call the reservations number at 1-800-252-7522 for assistance. Alaska is operating as of right now but is offering a travel waiver.

Allegiant – Cancelled Thursday flights.
