– Five new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in South Carolina, the state’s Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) confirmed. This brings the total number of cases statewide to 33.
There are now 18 cases in Kershaw County, three each in Horry, and Beaufort Counties, two in Lexington, Lancaster and Anderson County and one case each in Charleston, Spartanburg and Greenville.
– Health officials confirmed the first death due to COVID-19 in South Carolina. The person who died lived in a nursing home in Lexington County, near Columbia
– The list contains nearly 200 additional products—including 40 new products that went through the agency’s expedited review process. The agency also made key enhancements to the web-based list to improve its usefulness.
The product list has also been updated to include the product’s active ingredient and the amount of time the surface should remain wet to be effective. To view the list, click here.
– Anyone who believes they are showing symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath, should call their health care provider.
– People with general questions about coronavirus should call the D-HEC Care Line at 855-472-34-32. The line is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. Callers are urged to be patient as call volumes are high.
– People without a doctor can take advantage of free online screening from MUSC. Go to musc.care and access the COVID-19 platform. The service is free with code: COVID19. The goal is to keep patients at home if they don’t need to be treated at a hospital.
